Patrick Daly
Managing Partner
Patrick Daly is the Founding Partner of Sextant Capital Solutions. Mr. Daly has over 30 years of experience in the alternative asset and financial services industry.
From 2019 to 2023 he was a partner of PJT Park Hill Group managing the direct placement business; 2015 to 2019 Partner & Co-Head of PJT Park Hill Group’s hedge fund and credit placement business and in 2006 he co-founded the hedge fund and credit placement business for Blackstone’s Park Hill Group.
Prior to joining Park Hill Group, from 2000 to 2006, Mr. Daly was a Director in Credit Suisse First Boston’s Private Fund Group and a Managing Director at Norfolk Markets where he built out scaled platforms focused on raising institutional capital for alternative asset strategies in credit and illiquid assets.
Mr. Daly began his career as a trader on the mortgage desk of Morgan Stanley in 1991 and later moved to Credit Suisse First Boston; managing derivative books for both organizations until he transitioned to capital raising for the alternative asset market in 2000.
Mr. Daly received a BBA from James Madison University and is a CAIA Charter holder
John Carroll
Managing Director
John Carroll is a Managing Director at Sextant Capital Solutions focused on debt capital markets and loan transactions. Prior to joining Sextant, John was a Senior Vice President in Capital Markets at Solar Mosaic responsible for investor partnerships and loan offtake.
Before Mosaic, John was a Managing Director at ACP Group looking after the origination, structuring, and distribution of private credit mandates across a wide array of asset classes. He joined ACP from Finitive where he held a similar role.
Previously, John was a consultant to a family office and a private investor in securitized and structured products. John began this role after spending over 15 years in senior trading, distribution, and risk management positions at UBS, Barclays Capital, and Morgan Stanley.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, John was at NationsBanc Mortgage where he was responsible for whole loan trading.
John began his career as a US Treasury trader at Discount Corporation of New York after earning his B.A. in Economics and Finance from StonyBrook University.
Chris Castano
Partner
Chris Castano is a Partner and Head of Distribution at Sextant Capital Solutions where he shares responsibility for business development and investor relationship management.
Prior to joining Sextant, Mr. Castano was a senior member of the team at GCM Grosvenor where he was involved in business development, client service, and consultant relations.
Before GCM Grosvenor, he was head of business development at Sonar Capital Management, a long/short equity fund.
Previously, Mr. Castano held a number of roles at Merrill Lynch, including head of high net worth sales for alternative investments, head of the product platform for the private banking group, and head of private equity origination for the private client group. While there, he was a member of the Board of Directors for Merrill Lynch Alternative Investments and served on the Alternative Investments Product Management and Investment Committee. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Castano was an attorney at Waters, McPherson, McNeill, P.C., which specializes in environmental litigation and urban redevelopment. He also clerked for the New Jersey Superior Court, in the Appellate Division.
Mr. Castano received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell, as a member of the Board of Trustees of The New School, and is Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Schools of Public Engagement at The New School.
Griffin Conner
Vice President
Griffin Conner is a Vice President at Sextant Capital Solutions focused on deal origination and execution. Prior to Sextant, Griffin was an Analyst and then an Associate at Moelis & Company as a member of the Private Funds Advisory team in New York. He was responsible for supporting primary fundraising, private equity secondaries, and bespoke capital solutions engagements for financial sponsors globally. Prior to Moelis & Company, Griffin was an Analyst in the Investment Banking division of ABN AMRO Securities in New York as a member of the Leveraged Finance team, where he originated, structured, and executed syndicated leveraged loans and high-yield bonds across all sectors and geographies. Griffin has a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University.
R.J. Hagie
Managing Director
R.J. Hagie is a Managing Director at Sextant Capital Solutions focused on global investor coverage across all products and sectors. Prior to Sextant, R.J. was a Principal at Tradition Private Markets, the Private Capital Advisory arm of Compagnie Financiere Tradition. He was responsible for deal origination and execution within the U.S. LP-led and GP-led secondaries market for private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure assets. Prior to TPM, R.J. was a Senior Vice President within the Emerging Markets group at Tradition, focused on fixed income and derivative products. He was responsible for client coverage and business development for Latin American financial institutions. Prior to Tradition, he was a PGA Golf Professional at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, NY. R.J. has a B.S. from Methodist University and holds an M.B.A. from IMD Business School in Switzerland.
Erik Hess
Managing Director
Erik Hess joins Sextant Capital Solutions as a Managing Director to focus on origination and deal execution. Mr. Hess brings over 20 years of experience in both Finance and in Operational roles. His career in finance began as an investment banking analyst at Bear Stearns, in sell-side equity as Head of Quantitative Research at ISI (now Evercore ISI), in buy-side public equity at the Carlyle Group and buy-side private equity with a family office in the middle east.
As an entrepreneur he has raised capital and directly operated companies across a broad range of industries (FinTech, SAAS, Crypto, Impact) and geographies (US and frontier markets).
Mr. Hess is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, with a degree in International Finance.
Kate Rathjen
Managing Director
Kate Rathjen is a Managing Director at Sextant Capital Solutions with 15 years of experience in the financial services industry across capital markets, investment banking, private wealth and alternative asset capital raising and advisory.
Prior to joining the Sextant team, Mrs. Rathjen was at PJT Park Hill on the Direct Placements team, focused on raising capital for single asset and fundless-sponsor opportunities across clients’ capital structure needs. Before becoming a member of the Direct Placements team, Kate held a Distribution role in PJT Park Hill’s Real Estate group where she focused on raising capital for commingled real estate funds and co-investment opportunities. Prior to PJT Park Hill, Mrs. Rathjen spent time at Morgan Stanley on both the institutional and wealth management sides of the business.
Kate received her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Finance, and her BA with honors from Duke University with a major in Art History. She sits on the Board of the Greenwich United Way.
Kyle Weikert
Vice President
Kyle Weikert is a Vice President at Sextant Capital Solutions focused on deal origination and execution. Prior to Sextant, Kyle was an Investment Banking Analyst and then an Associate at TD Cowen. He was responsible for supporting sellside, buyside and capital raise engagements in the middle-market across the Business Services, Consumer, and Healthcare sectors in both roles. Prior to TD Cowen, Kyle was an Associate Consultant with Triage Consulting Group, where he provided comprehensive payment review and litigation support for large healthcare systems across the U.S. Kyle has a B.S. from Stanford University, where he played water polo on the school’s DI team for each of his four years there.
Jordan Wolf
Vice President
Jordan Wolf joins Sextant Capital Solutions as a Vice President focused on investor coverage across the organization. Prior to Sextant, Jordan was a Director of Private Equity at Spouting Rock Financial Services and was responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution. Prior to joining Spouting Rock, Jordan worked at Kiwi Ventures, an early-stage VC firm based in New York City. He worked on the strategic partnership team and focused on deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company management. Jordan began his finance career working at BNP Paribas on the fixed income floor and later for a venture backed Fintech company.
He holds a BA in History and Minor in Markets and Management from Duke University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business with a concentration in Corporate Finance and Strategy. Jordan played Division-I lacrosse for Duke University and played eight years professionally for Major League Lacrosse, The Premier Lacrosse League, and the US National Team.
